This Company is bringing in Millions of money that is supposed to be going to the kids. My mother resently left this org. because they made them lie to the public and state 98% of monies were going to the childeren.

Fact is when the "big brother or sister" goes out they are expected to pay thier own way for everything and the parent of the child is to pay for the kids half - the "Big Brother, Big Sister org." pays nothing towards any outings these kids have. The only chance they have to do anything extra is if some companies donate tickets for the kids to do some fun things, but not from the org.!

The only monies put out by the "Big Bro., Big Sis." is a Chrismas party where each kid gets 1 gift and the staff and the "big bro.'s and big sis,'s are invited to come. Then one other party for the "big bro.'s and big sis.'s"

So they take in Millions pay for 2 parties - no money for the outings - lie about how much is going to the kids (Big time) and pay emloyees very little. My mother was a receptionist for years for them - then just got too sick of all of it.

There are a lot of people getting extreamely rich for doing nothing.

The BBBS Profram contract is minimal and cannot be reinforced with compensation. That being said.

A big brother or big sister, can step into your child's life and take over your parenting role of your children and grandchildren! The BBBSP says, " they are older and can do what they want to, were so sorry". They offer no counseling for this problem. They are funded in the millions by our government tax dollars.

This is unaceptable. Do not do this program. They have turned a blind eye to grooming, and getting counseling for everyone involved. Meanwhile they are making a lot of money, instead of dispersing funds for problems like this and more.

Beware, you are on your own parents. Lauree Carlsen

Bad experience. Match advisor gave no help or advise and was difficult to reach.

We were not told the boy we were matched with was bipolar and his mood swings were horrible.

His mother just wanted a break from him and would call repeatedly and have some issue where she needed us to keep him longer, 8 hours or more every weekend! We were nothing but free babysitters to a troubled, defiant 10 year old kid, and when we quit the match advisor's only concern was it would mess up their stats!

The Kentucky chapter is prejudice due to our religion they never helped us. They never even gave my son a partner.

I sent in all of the documents and his photo and they let us down.

Not a reputable company at all. Very disappointed because I was going through divorce and he needed male guidance.

As someone who was a mentor, I find this organization couldn't care less about the kids. In fact, I really don't know what they do besides set you up with someone and give you contact information.

The kid I was with was having a personal issue with too many appointments. I called the social worker and asked what are they *** about this, and you know what she told me, "He just has to deal with it". She realized quickly what she said and took it back, but I knew from that moment on they did not have the interest of the child. Oh' and as far as the organization taking care of the kid, yeah right.

I paid for everything on my outings.

I called him my second girlfriend (haha). I really enjoyed being with the kid, but I feel the organization did absolutely nothing besides set us up.

About six years ago my mom tried to sign up my sister in the program, a few people came to the house to interview missy, we did mention even though see was young, she had come out to the family that she is ***, and asked if they were ok with that....they never came backed or call :(

I'm not surprised by your post. I have office space right next to Big Brothers Big Sisters office space in Los Angeles.

They have a tiny office, next to a huge space that serves as a bingo hall for them. It is not frequented by upscale little old ladies looking for a diversion, but toothless, limping, down-and-out alcoholics and chain-smokers...the same people who desperately buy scratcher lottery tickets hoping it will solve their problems.

The fact that the Big Brothers organization is making it's money on the backs of the people who can least afford it by preying on their gambling habit and desperation tells me everything I need to know about their group. Not to mention the unprofessional demeanor of their employees.

I signed up with my mom and they don't have a big brother for me because we are not local so my mom just got an email saying that one person is helping another that does not have to do with my need of a big brother so BBBS is jacking off to themselves.

I signed up to be a Big Sister back in March. I requested to be paired with a 9-11 yr old Girl.

I was finally accepted as a Big Sister in May. In August I was offered a 17 yr old who was *** and had an incarcerated brother. I declined. I wasnรขโ‚ฌโ„ขt comfortable with the brother coming home one day.

Sorry!

:-( It's Sept and still no word from Big Brother Big Sister. I thought there were young people that wanted mentors out here?

Wow, too bad not all the young people wanting mentors fit your personal preferences for age, sexual orientation, and family situation. If you haven't relaxed your superficial standards yet, you're probably still waiting.

Try being a vendor. I gave them $4500 in free business material.

Then, they wanted access to my equipment. Totally taken advantage of!

That's just on paper. The real truth is told by the kind common people who are taken advantage of by the clickish organization.
